Benjamin Franklin, born January 17, 1706, is one of the U.S.A.’s ”Founding Fathers”. He helped draft the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. He also helped negotiate the 1783 Treaty of Paris to end the Revolutionary War. He was a scientist, printer, politician, freemason and diplomat. He invested and discovered many things that are common and important to our current everyday life, including swim fins, the Franklin stove, the lightning rod, and bifocals.
